About AMDefNet

Who we are

AMDefNet is a vibrant network of active and former military personnel, AM experts, AM pioneers, enthusiasts, and #AMLovers from across Europe who believe in the game-changing potential of Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology for Europe’s industrialization and its positive impact on Security and Defence. We consider AMDefNet to be Europe’s voice and face for AM applications in the Security and Defence domain. To provide a strong and sustainable foundation for our network, we have decided to establish AMDefNet as a German-registered association. This legal structure will provide a home for individuals, industries, and organizations that believe in the power of AM and recognize Security and Defence as key drivers for the implementation of AM technology across a wide range of use cases and for achieving broader acceptance.

Mission

Our vision is a connected future, enabling the efficient, transparent, and networked application of AM across European defence and security forces. We unite the ecosystem by bringing together industry, institutions, organizations and stakeholders from across Europe. By fostering cooperation, breaking down barriers, and building momentum, AMDefNet creates a strong and unified voice for one of Europe’s most transformative technologies focusing on Europe’s resilience and independency.

Our strategic objectives?

AMDefNet aims to contribute to and shape a European strategy for Additive Manufacturing (AM), which is essential for the widespread implementation of AM technologies across sectors and particularly within the Defence and Security domain. By fostering collaboration, facilitating knowledge exchange, developing skills and competencies, expanding professional networks, and enabling strategic dialogue among stakeholders, AMDefNet seeks to accelerate the adoption and operational deployment of AM technologies, strengthen resilient and agile supply chains, support standardization and qualification efforts, and promote cross-border cooperation. As Europe’s leading network for AM in Security and Defence, AMDefNet champions the strategic value of AM as a key enabling technology that enhances European resilience, operational readiness, technological sovereignty, and industrial independence. AMDefNet also aims to promote collaboration between AM and conventional manufacturing methods, as well as emerging technologies.
